Features: Those who have long admired the "Three Character Classic" have called it a "peerless book of all ages" and a "" (a concise summary of history). The "Three Character Classic" indeed contains a wealth of knowledge worth learning and mastering, such as natural knowledge, historical knowledge, anecdotes of famous figures, and more. Even adults should review it to learn and internalize the principles of being a good person and inherit the essence of traditional Chinese culture.
The "Disciples' Rules" (《》) was originally titled "Instructions for the Young" and was written by Li Yuxiu, a scholar during the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty. Its content is based on the sixth chapter of the "Analects" titled "Learning," which states: "A disciple, when at home, should be filial; when abroad, should be respectful to elders; should be cautious and trustworthy; should love all people and be close to the virtuous; if there is surplus strength after fulfilling these duties, then they should study literature." It specifically lists the behavioral norms for children or students at home, when traveling, in interactions with others, and in their pursuit of knowledge. It not only teaches people the principles of how to treat others but also provides concrete methods for doing so, making it a textbook for regulating behavior. By regulating their own conduct, people can easily get along harmoniously with others at home and in social life, thereby cultivating a positive mindset and healthy psychology, becoming useful members of society.
The "Thousand-Character Classic" has been passed down for over 1,500 years. Although the entire book uses only 1,000 unique characters, it contains substantial knowledge and artistic value. Mao Zedong said that the "Thousand-Character Classic" covers astronomy, geography, agriculture, meteorology, minerals, local specialties, history, and self-cultivation.
The "Classic of Filial Piety" is a Confucian ethical work from ancient China. It argues that filial piety is the foundation of all virtues ("Among a person's actions, nothing is greater than filial piety") and that a ruler can govern a state with filial piety, while subjects can establish themselves and manage their households while maintaining their status. The "Classic of Filial Piety" was the first in Chinese ethical thought to link filial piety to loyalty to the ruler, viewing loyalty as an extension and expansion of filial piety. It was revered as a classic during the Tang Dynasty and, after the Southern Song Dynasty, was included among the "Thirteen Classics."
