Second, effectively carrying out this work will create favorable opportunities for the construction of advanced equipment manufacturing bases in Northeast China. Comparative advantage analysis of equipment manufacturing in China, Japan, and South Korea indicates that the industrial structures of China and Japan have strong complementarity, while those of China and South Korea have strong competitiveness. The formation of the China-Japan-South Korea free trade area will enable these three countries to achieve complementary advantages and competitive development in equipment manufacturing, forming a virtuous cycle of interactive development.
Third, effectively carrying out this work and leveraging the strengths of China, Japan, and South Korea will help address a series of critical issues in old industrial bases. By promoting the formation process, the complementary advantages of natural resource endowments, capital supply and demand, labor supply and demand, scientific and technological capabilities, industrial structure complementarity, and market complementarity among the three countries will be further utilized. This will resolve existing problems in old industrial bases, such as irrational industrial structures, capital shortages, and labor surpluses, and accelerate the revitalization and development process.
The research on the relationship between the China-Japan-South Korea free trade area and the revitalization of old industrial bases in this book is conducted based on an in-depth study of China's regional economic integration strategy.
