Publishing Date: 2005-09-01
Features: Before the 1990s, Japan's economy experienced multiple economic cycle changes. As the Bank of Japan, the central bank of Japan, implemented its monetary policy under the inherent financial system, it achieved relatively good macroeconomic control effects. However, after the 1990s, with the collapse of Japan's bubble economy, the country fell into a severe deflationary situation, and the effectiveness of its monetary policy also significantly decreased. This book is the final research outcome based on the large amount of first-hand data and materials the author acquired during his tenure as a visiting researcher at Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan. Through multiple perspectives, the book analyzes and studies Japan's economy and monetary policy and its effects after the collapse of the bubble economy, which led to a complex deflationary situation, in order to draw lessons from Japan's experience in implementing monetary policy. This book serves as a reference for China's central bank on how to conduct macroeconomic control in the future.
