Features: The roots of the style followed by the architectural works of Arne Jacobsen can be traced back to the German Neoclassicism of the great project, the Copenhagen Police Headquarters designed and built by Hack Kampmann from 1919 to 1924. In the contemporary academic field, this building is of great importance. Kampmann, a professor at the architectural college, devoted all his passion to this work in all his creations, along with his students and young designers, positioning all participants as a tiny decisive element, considering it a learning work. The rigid exterior contrasts sharply with the interior design that has a clear classical "drama." However, the borrowing of these classical elements is not merely a "source of idealism" in form. They executed every procedure strictly and meticulously. This is evident in the circular central square, which is the same scale as the Pantheon in Rome, or in the later rectangular space, reminiscent of the courtyard design of the Pompeyan villa, close to an axisymmetric shape. The overall design is constrained by the trapezoidal urban area, and the building is reasonably integrated into the urban layout.
