What should be prepared before delivery?

Patient's question:

After getting pregnant, I have been active all the time, always hoping for a normal vaginal delivery. Everyone says that babies delivered vaginally are healthier, and the mother recovers faster. I'm almost at the stage of labor, and the doctor said I can have a normal vaginal delivery, which makes me very happy. But as a first-time mother, I'm not prepared for many things.
What kind of help do I need: What should I prepare before labor?

Doctor's answer:

The diet during the pre-labor period mainly consists of two stages. The first stage is about half a month before labor, meaning your current diet should have a significant amount of stored energy. Labor is a physically demanding process, so it is based on high energy and high nutrition, but with small, frequent meals to prevent the fetus from growing too large and interfering with a natural birth, with a high-protein foundation. The second stage is three days before labor, when you can consider consuming semi-liquid soft foods or high-calorie foods like fruit juice and chocolate. However, avoid greasy and hard-to-digest foods. Additionally, if possible, you can take a bath and change into clean clothes beforehand, as you won't be able to bathe for a long time after giving birth.
