Does D&C for dysfunctional uterine bleeding hurt?

Patient's question:

These past few days, I've been experiencing frequent retching. After testing, I found out that I'm pregnant. However, due to circumstances, I had to undergo a miscarriage. Afterwards, the doctor performed a D&C (dilation and curettage) for me. When I got home, I noticed that I had my period again, and ever since then, I've been bleeding dark red blood with a volume similar to a normal menstrual period.
What kind of help would you like: Is a D&C procedure painful?

Doctor's answer:

Endometritis is the inflammation of the endometrium. The main symptoms of acute endometritis include fever, lower abdominal pain, increased vaginal discharge, sometimes bloody or foul-smelling, and sometimes the uterus is slightly enlarged with tenderness. Chronic cases also exhibit similar symptoms, but may also include heavy menstrual bleeding, lower abdominal pain, and significant lumbosacral discomfort. Based on the duration of the course, it can be divided into acute endometritis and chronic endometritis. Treatment primarily involves the use of antibiotics, but it is also necessary to remove obvious triggers, such as removing an intrauterine device, completely clearing residual placental tissue or endometrial polyps in the uterine cavity. If there is an endometrial submucosal fibroid or endometrial cancer, additional procedures should be performed based on the specific situation.
