Features: The vast Chinese nation, with a five-thousand-year civilization, has spread its influence far and wide. In this era of rapid technological advancement and seamless information exchange, the world is increasingly resembling a global village. Precisely because of this, how to preserve and showcase national cultural characteristics amidst the waves of globalization has become a major issue concerning the survival and development of ethnic groups. To preserve as much of the research outcomes of this symposium as possible, this book specially includes the outlines of three English reports by the keynote speakers: Lilankatz, former president of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in the United States, and Ingrid Pramling, former chair of the OMEP Sweden Committee, as well as Doreen Launder, a New Zealand Ministry of Education early childhood education official, who presented thematic reports. We believe that the new ideas and reflections conveyed in this monograph will undoubtedly inspire further enthusiasm for discussion. We hope to gather again in the near future to continue discussing the development of Chinese early childhood education.
