Features: Historians of world history must work hard to create popular reading materials that are both insightful and engaging, in order to attract the general public's interest. Through their own learning and practical experiences, people should come to recognize the importance of world history knowledge for modern citizens. Of course, writing popular reading materials that are both scientifically accurate and readable is not something every professional can achieve. A country in the process of modernization undoubtedly needs popular world history materials. There are many ways to promote world history education, catering to readers who are interested in general histories, specific historical periods, specialized histories, and regional or national histories. However, recent practices have shown that the public is more receptive to biographies of representative figures from various aspects of history. Therefore, our efforts to promote world history education should start with this approach and deepen the work from this perspective. In selecting the 100 world history figures for this series, "The Ten Major Series of China and the World," we have tried to consider both the characters readers might want to know and the characters they should know. The reason we emphasize this is because China is increasingly becoming an integral part of world culture, and 21st-century Chinese citizens must have a strong sense of global awareness.
