The title "Reflection and Construction of Higher Education in Transition" is chosen with the following meaning: We focus on the problems in higher education during the transition period, adhering to practical reflection and reflective practice (in the words of Pierre Bourdieu). This means reflecting on the action dilemmas in the transformation of higher education and constructing pathways or models to resolve these dilemmas; at the same time, we conduct a reflective critique of the process and conclusions (results) of the constructed pathways and models. Our reflections on Chinese higher education are an "interpretive understanding" and "understanding-based interpretation" (in the words of Max Weber). We will continuously refine this tentative interpretation in our future research. We sincerely invite researchers and readers to provide criticism and suggestions to promote the improvement of our research. This book is suitable for higher education researchers, administrative departments of higher education, teachers, administrators, students in universities, and readers interested in Chinese higher education.
