Features: This book is one of our press's "21st Century Legal Education Series Textbooks," serving as supplementary teaching materials for "The History of Foreign Legal Systems." Compared to the previous version of the reference collection, this book has made breakthroughs or innovations in both content and format. In terms of content, this book has removed some less valuable sections from the previous version while adding more valuable but less accessible content. In addition to legal norms, it includes classic cases and insightful discussions by renowned scholars. Furthermore, it provides bibliographic indexes and relevant websites for specific issues to facilitate further research. In terms of format, the ancient section remains largely unchanged, but from the late Middle Ages onwards, the selected materials are primarily organized by country. Within each country, the content is divided into legal norms, cases, classic discussions, and reference materials, helping readers gain a comprehensive and systematic understanding of a country's development from ancient times to the present. It is hoped that this book will better complement the teaching of "The History of Foreign Legal Systems" and become an essential reference tool for both teachers and students. The book is divided into four parts: Ancient Period, Civil Law System, Common Law System, and Bibliography of Foreign Legal History. Within each country, the content is further divided into four sections: legal norms, cases, classic discussions, and reference materials.
