Features: To adapt to the needs of medical education reform and further improve teaching quality, Peking University Health Science Center organized its experts to compile a set of textbooks suitable for long-term clinical medical education. "Medical Imaging" strives to comprehensively reflect the latest academic level of this discipline in its content. Based on radiology diagnostics, it covers ultrasound, CT, MRI, DSA, and other imaging diagnostics as well as interventional radiology. It focuses on teaching the fundamental theories, basic knowledge, and essential skills that students must master. At the same time, each chapter introduces an overview of the latest developments in the relevant discipline. This textbook comprehensively explains various imaging examination methods and the imaging manifestations of normal structures and basic lesions, centered around "systems" and "organs." In terms of imaging diagnostics for common diseases, it breaks the traditional pattern of discussing imaging examination methods separately and instead integrates various imaging manifestations and diagnostic characteristics around "diseases," inspiring students to analyze diagnostic information from different perspectives and compare the diagnostic value, role, and limitations of various imaging methods. Thus, students will gain systematic, comprehensive, and complete knowledge of imaging diagnostics for various diseases, which helps train their thinking methods, improve their comprehensive analytical abilities, and foster their innovative awareness. When explaining normal imaging manifestations, it combines them with applied anatomy; when clarifying the imaging manifestations of diseases, it links them with pathological changes, allowing students to deeply understand and reflect on the significance of "images" in anatomy and pathology, which is one of the features of this textbook. To strengthen students' memory of professional English terms and provide them with a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment, the professional vocabulary in this textbook is written in both English and Chinese. Each new term is annotated with Chinese upon its first appearance in each chapter and then used in English thereafter, minimizing the use of Chinese. However, in certain sections where professional terms are overly concentrated or where using Chinese after English would hinder readability, Chinese is used accordingly. It is hoped that after studying this book, students will master the commonly used English terms in medical imaging and related disease names. In addition to being used for long-term medical education, this textbook is also a major reference for five-year programs and clinical doctors. The book uses different font sizes: non-assessment content and unsettled new theories are marked in a smaller font for reference during study.
