Features: This is the third book in the "Popular Series on Psychotherapy." It focuses on the psychology of young people and how to provide appropriate guidance that aligns with their psychological development stages. In this book, "young people" refer to those aged approximately 18 to 23; that is, individuals who have completed high school education and are either pursuing higher education or entering the workforce. It can be considered a transitional phase before marriage, family life, and becoming fully adult. From a psychological development perspective, young people have largely completed their physical and physiological development, and their psychological structures and functions are also well-established. However, they still need to acquire practical life knowledge and experience, and there are many flexible stages in their psychological growth. If they encounter psychological difficulties, timely and appropriate guidance and support can easily improve their situation and help them continue their process of maturation. Therefore, counseling plays a special role and is highly effective. The book first explains the psychological characteristics of young people, then discusses common psychological issues or mental disorders they face, and subsequently elaborates on the principles and key points of various counseling approaches, emphasizing how to provide appropriate psychological guidance tailored to their developmental stages. To facilitate practical application, various case studies of different natures are presented, each discussed and analyzed separately. Many of these cases were provided by colleagues from various regions. Special thanks are extended to them for their participation in writing and supporting this work. The examples cited have been modified to conceal the personal backgrounds of the cases. The authors express gratitude to the participants for their cooperation, as their counseling experiences can help more individuals in need of guidance. It is hoped that this book will serve as a reference for counselors and assist many young people and their parents in creating healthier and happier psychological lives.
