Features: Patterns are a part of human life and a part of human culture. They evolve alongside the emergence of humanity, human migration, and the various changes in human society. Standing in this vast "forest" of foreign patterns, while we need to understand the overall development of patterns, we do not need to meticulously study the history of pattern development. It is neither possible nor necessary to research the multifaceted patterns of every country. However, we indeed need to find the representative and outstanding patterns from various regions, periods, and ethnic groups around the world since the dawn of humanity. Our design work and artistic creation require us to understand and learn from foreign patterns. We must be individuals with extensive knowledge and a refined appreciation of patterns. The essence of foreign pattern art is a common treasure of humanity. Studying foreign patterns in our own way, learning from the diverse languages and conventions of patterns, and appreciating their unique charm is like climbing onto the shoulders of pattern giants—this is an incredibly joyful experience for us.
