This series is organized by the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads and is a research outcome of the Beijing Step-by-Step Quality Education Research Institute. Since its publication by the Olympic Press, it has stood out uniquely and is deeply loved by teachers, parents, and students. After significant revisions, re-editions, or complete rewrites, it has been renamed as "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools" series, and is now re-published and distributed by Jinghua Publishing House. At this re-publication, sincere gratitude is extended to millions of readers across the country.
Subject Olympiads for Primary and Secondary Schools (referred to as "Subject Olympiads") are the most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competition activities for primary and secondary school students in China. Subject Olympiads are derived from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential middle school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such widespread attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, comprehensiveness of Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness—qualities that are at the core of quality education and essential for future development.
Based on years of in-depth research on this activity and a vast number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators from across the country dedicated to this field to compile and publish a series of "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools" books covering seven subjects—mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information science—comprising over 200 varieties. In terms of variety, quantity, and quality, our Olympiad books are the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally, and are the most appealing to primary and secondary school teachers and students.
The purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools" series are as follows:
1. High: Derived from textbooks but exceeding them. Derived from textbooks means referencing the latest [curriculum standards] of the Ministry of Education, while exceeding them means closely aligning with competition syllabi at all levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and skill requirements. This cultivates interest, develops intelligence, and enhances abilities.
2. Accurate: Scientifically precise with a well-structured layout. Each book is designed according to the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a progressive learning principle, offering in-depth yet accessible analysis and comprehensive problem-solving methods.

It compiles the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions, representing the highest level of current Olympiad standards and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as innovative ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
4. Refined: Selects exemplary problems that are challenging yet logical, flexible, and achievable. Emphasizes the ability to generalize from specific examples and encourages multi-solution, multi-variable, and multi-question approaches. Focuses on training thinking skills without resorting to rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
