Features: This book aims to collect Han Chinese single-paragraph prose, parallel prose, and rhyming literature (excluding poetry, qu and ci) from the Yuan Dynasty. The time frame for the authors covered is generally based on the Jin and Southern Song dynasties. For authors from the original Jin territory, the upper limit is the third year of the reign of Jin Aizong (1234); for authors from the original Southern Song territory, the upper limit is the second year of the Xiangxing era of the Southern Song (1279); and the lower limit is the twenty-eighth year of the Zhizheng era of the Yuan Emperor (1368). Authors who entered the Yuan Dynasty from the Jin or Song dynasties, or from the Yuan to the Ming Dynasty, and whose main activities took place during the Yuan Dynasty, are included as Yuan authors. Following the principle of "letting the text follow the author," all works of the included authors are collected regardless of whether they were written during the Yuan Dynasty. For the Confucian classics, history, and philosophy works of Yuan scholars, this book generally only includes prefaces, postfaces, and single-paragraph Yuan texts cited within the works. However, collections that can be considered as complete works, such as memorial essays, historical commentaries, and legal judgments in the history section, and inscriptions in the philosophy section, are still included as collections. For the convenience of readers' references, this book is compiled according to the old method of dividing chapters. Each chapter contains about 10,000 words of text. Authors with more works are divided into multiple chapters, while those with fewer works are grouped together in one chapter. The Yuan texts collected in this book are as far as possible based on good and complete editions. The main text strictly follows the original editions. If there are indeed errors in the original editions, they are corrected and annotated. For general variant readings, annotations are not provided. Annotations are appended at the end of each text. Minor errors in stroke order that are clearly due to printing mistakes are corrected. For each author included in this book, a brief biography is written, providing an introduction to their name, courtesy name, title, posthumous name, birth and death years, place of origin, official career, main activities, writings, and the status of their works collected in this book, along with the sources of the historical materials used. To facilitate readers' searches, in addition to the index of the collected volumes, appendices at the end of the book include the "Author Index of the Complete Yuan Texts," the "Title Index of the Complete Yuan Texts," and the "Bibliography of Works Cited Outside of the Collected Collections."
