Features: The "Olympic Subject Competitions for Primary and Secondary Schools" series consists of over 200 varieties, including textbook series, introductory textbooks, practice papers, mock exam papers, intensive textbooks, classic problem-solving series, weekly tests, question compilations, and multi-solution series. This series is compiled by the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads and is a research outcome of Beijing Step-by-Step Quality Education Research Institute. Since its publication by the Olympic Press, it has stood out uniquely and is deeply loved by teachers, parents, and students. After significant revisions, re-editions, or complete rewrites, it has been renamed as "Golden Medal Olympiad" and "Golden Medal School" series and is now re-published and distributed by Jinghua Publishing House. On this occasion of the re-publication, sincere gratitude is extended to millions of readers across the country. Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads (abbreviated as Subject Olympiads) are one of the most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competition activities for primary and secondary school students in China. Subject Olympiads are derived from and extended from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential middle school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such widespread attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, comprehensiveness of Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness. These are precisely the core elements of quality education, which are also essential for future development. Based on years of in-depth research on this activity and a large number of excellent books in this category, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from across the country to compile and publish a series of books on mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology—comprising over 200 varieties. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, they are considered the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally, and are the most appealing to primary and secondary school teachers and students. The compilation principles and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiad" and "Golden Medal School" series are as follows:
1. High: Derived from textbooks but also surpassing them. Derived from textbooks means referencing the latest [curriculum standards] issued by the Ministry of Education; surpassing them means closely aligning with the competition syllabi at all levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and skill requirements, thereby fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing abilities.
2. Accurate: Scientifically precise with a well-structured design. Each book is designed based on the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a step-by-step approach, providing in-depth yet accessible analysis and comprehensive, detailed problem-solving methods.
3. Innovative: The questions are novel, unique, and highly engaging. They gather the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both China and abroad, representing the highest level of current Olympiad standards and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as new ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
4. Refined: Selected examples are challenging yet not obscure, flexible, and achievable. The focus is on generalizing from specific examples and applying knowledge to different contexts; it emphasizes multi-solution, multi-variable, and multi-question approaches to problems, with a strong emphasis on training thinking skills rather than rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
5. Renowned: A gathering of distinguished teachers and a collection of famous competitions. The Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited renowned university professors, distinguished teachers from key secondary schools, senior teachers, subject leaders, and famous Olympiad gold medal coaches to contribute.
