Features: Difficult and (or "heterogeneous") diseases refer to conditions with complex pathogenesis that cannot be fully explained by current Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theories. They often present with ambiguous symptoms and are difficult to diagnose. Alternatively, they may be theoretically explainable but unresponsive to conventional TCM treatments. These diseases typically have a prolonged course and are prone to recurrence. They include chronic conditions that do not respond to treatment, as well as those without organic damage but with poor therapeutic outcomes, causing significant distress to patients and severely impacting their work and daily lives. They also encompass cases where both Western and Chinese diagnoses are clear, but long-term treatment remains ineffective. This book is divided into two parts: Part 1 covers the diagnosis and treatment of heterogeneous diseases, while Part 2 presents case studies on the diagnosis and treatment of heterogeneous diseases.
