The China Environmental Science Press is the designated specialized publishing unit for the State Environmental Protection Administration to publish national environmental protection standards and industry environmental protection standards. To ensure that environmental protection departments and organizations at all levels implement environmental protection standards correctly and effectively in their work, the Department of Science, Standards and Technology, State Environmental Protection Administration, and the China Environmental Science Press compiled and published the Compendium of Environmental Protection Standards of New China in 2001. This compendium includes all currently effective national environmental protection standards and environmental protection industry standards in China from 1978 to the end of 2000, excluding standards for standard samples. In 2003, the Compendium of China Environmental Protection Standards was compiled and published, including all national environmental protection standards and environmental protection industry standards issued in the two years of 2001 and 2002. It is currently the newest, most comprehensive, and most authoritative compendium of environmental protection standards.
