Features: Zhang Lu, styled Luyu, styled Shixian Laoren, was a native of Changzhou in Jiangnan (now Suzhou, Jiangsu). He was born in 1617 and died in 1699 at the age of 83. Zhang Lu was a renowned physician in the early Qing Dynasty. He was able to "gather strengths and integrate them with his own insights," annotating the original text of Treatise on Cold Damage and supplementing content on pulse-taking, observation of complexion, and tongue diagnosis. He discussed the syndrome differentiation and treatment of various diseases, with a focus on internal medicine but also covering surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, gynecology, and pediatrics. Due to his over 60 years of clinical experience and his profound knowledge, he was able to connect theory with practice, extensively search for knowledge, and distill insights to achieve the goal of "summarizing the wisdom of ancient and modern sages in one hall and integrating the diseases of all regions into one pulse." His achievements were outstanding. This book compiles his major works: Zhang's Medical Treatise (16 volumes), Original Meeting with the Classics (4 volumes), Continuation of the Treatise on Cold Damage (2 volumes), Outlines of the Treatise on Cold Damage (2 volumes), Tongue Diagnosis of Cold Damage (1 volume), Analysis of Complementary Syndromes in Cold Damage (1 volume), and Essentials of Pulse Diagnosis (1 volume). At the end of the book, there is an essay titled "Research on the Medical Academic Thought of Zhang Lu," which comprehensively introduces his life, academic thought, and clinical diagnostic experience, offering great inspiration for later generations to study and research Zhang's works. This book can serve as a reference for clinical practice, teaching, and research in traditional Chinese medicine. It is suitable for doctors, teachers, researchers, and students of traditional Chinese medicine colleges and universities who are engaged in traditional Chinese medicine or integrated Chinese and Western medicine.
