Postscript by the Editor: To further advance the study of Wuyue Buddhist culture, the Buddhist community and academia in Hangzhou collaborated to hold the Second Academic Conference on Wuyue Buddhist Culture and Society, and the Commemoration of the 1,100th Anniversary of the Birth of Master Yongming Yanshou in November 2004. This conference, organized by the Hangzhou Buddhist Association, the Hangzhou Research Association on Religion and Social Adaptation, co-sponsored by the Institute of Chinese Thought and Culture at Zhejiang University, and hosted by Hangzhou Buddhist College, was the most prestigious, insightful, large-scale, and focused academic conference on Master Yongming Yanshou in the past fifty years.
As this conference proceedings is being compiled and published, the editor extends sincere gratitude to all respected scholars, experts, and eminent monks and masters in the academic and Buddhist communities! During the process of editing and organizing the papers, due to the tight schedule and limited knowledge, there may inevitably be many shortcomings or even errors. We sincerely hope to continue receiving constructive criticism and corrections from all esteemed scholars and masters in both the Buddhist and academic communities!
