Features: The "Series on Natural Resources of China (Tianjin Volume)" was compiled under the leadership and organization of the Tianjin Municipal Planning Commission. It took nearly a year to conduct extensive surveys and research, written collectively by practical workers, scientists, and comrades familiar with Tianjin's resources. It truthfully reflects the status of Tianjin's natural resources, studies and looks ahead to the prospects of resource development, and proposes strategies and suggestions for the development, utilization, conservation, and protection of resources. Its publication will serve as a basis and reference for decision-making by various levels of leadership, the formulation of plans and programs, and the guidance of development and construction, holding profound significance for the economic development of Tianjin. Tianjin has a long history, abundant natural wealth, and a spirit of excellence. Despite its relatively small size, it possesses relatively rich natural resources, especially in oil, natural gas, sea salt, and geothermal energy, which account for a significant proportion nationwide. Between its ports and urban areas, there are large tracts of undeveloped wasteland and state-owned land awaiting development. Such unique natural resources and geographical advantages are rarely found in other major cities domestically and internationally. Tianjin's role and position in China's socialist modernization construction are irreplaceable by other cities.
