Features: The theory of the rule of law is fundamentally based on answering such questions: What is the rule of law? Why is the rule of law necessary? What kind of rule of law is needed? How is the rule of law possible? Therefore, this book attempts to explain the above questions from three levels: concept, model, and strategy.
A review of the formation of the rule of law reveals that its basic models are essentially divided into two types: endogenous and exogenous. The greatest difference between them lies in the quality of local rule of law resources and the extent to which natural evolution and artificial design are involved in the construction of the rule of law. From the perspective of the driving mechanism of the rule of law's construction, Chinese scholars have classified its driving models into government-driven, society-driven, and government-society interactive types. The latter is both in line with China's national conditions and does not deviate from the rules of the rule of law's growth.
Since the rule of law is designable, based on the realities of today's China, the strategy of the rule of law must first establish its entry point and operational focus. Accordingly, this book establishes the judiciary, administration, and rural promotion of the rule of law as the three major regional projects for the construction of the rule of law.
