Features: Since the 1950s, numerous Burmese grammar books have been published domestically in Myanmar. Among them, there are comprehensive multi-volume works with abundant examples, as well as concise standalone volumes. Japan and the United Kingdom have also produced and published some Burmese basic grammar textbooks for their own beginners. Some institutions in China have also developed several Burmese grammar textbooks or teaching materials tailored to teaching needs. These various versions of grammar each have their own unique features or strengths and hold certain reference value. However, for Chinese readers, especially for beginners studying Burmese systematically, they may not be entirely suitable or fully meet their learning needs. In light of this, the author, through long-term Burmese work and teaching practice, has compiled the language materials or resources accumulated through continuous exploration, research, and practice. By referring to Burmese grammar works, reference books, and various textbooks written by scholars from Myanmar, Japan, the United Kingdom, China, and other countries, and combining the characteristics of Chinese learners of Burmese, this book 《Burmese Grammar》 has been compiled. The writing of this grammar book strives to pay attention to the following points: (1) The book is organized according to the order of different word classes. Key sections such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, and auxiliary verbs either have additional chapters for supplementary explanations or are expanded with detailed annotations; (2) Examples are as much as possible related to real-life content and plots to facilitate readers' understanding and memory; (3) Efforts are made to proceed from simple to complex, from the surface to the inside, gradually deepening and improving; (4) The book attempts to absorb the strengths of Burmese grammar works by scholars at home and abroad, and applicable examples and explanatory methods are also included in this grammar book accordingly. On this occasion, sincere gratitude is expressed to the relevant scholars or teachers.
