Features: This paper analyzes conflicts and communication failures in cross-cultural communication from the perspectives of cultural anthropology, sociolinguistics, and applied linguistics. The article points out that differences in people's communication methods, language choices, and communication strategies can also lead to misunderstandings and barriers in communication. The conclusion of the paper is that cultural differences are the main cause of cross-cultural conflicts. Culture is the background, while sociolinguistic phenomena, social group consciousness, and social psychological norms are the foreground. Only by observing, evaluating, and understanding different cultures with an objective and fair attitude can cross-cultural communication be more effective.
