Features: To become a skilled photographer, one needs to master many techniques. It is generally believed that beginners must grasp certain technical skills, including the use of photographic equipment and light-sensitive materials, and there are already countless books on this topic. However, strangely enough, books specifically dedicated to explaining how the visual process works, which is equally important for photographers, are scarce. The main purpose of this book is to introduce photographers to the visual process and some fundamental concepts related to capturing visually appealing photographic images. In this book, we have selected visual concepts that are directly relevant to the creative work of photographers. As visual communicators, photographers must fully understand how they observe this visual world and how their audience perceives the images they capture. Only then can they create works that are not just records of reality but also leave a deep impression on viewers and convey meaningful messages. Most of the topics in this book explore the relationship between the changes in the four basic characteristics of light and the visual stimuli they cause. This is particularly applicable to artistic subjects, where appropriate consideration must be given to psychological and physiological factors that can determine or influence responses to visual stimuli. Each topic in the book addresses a visual concept, defines it, and then briefly explains its application in photography. To further clarify the application and essence of the concepts, demonstrations and experiments are often included. The primary audience for this book is students of photography at universities and colleges.
