Residences are the center of family life. For most people, much of their lives are spent in their homes. The demand for residences is a fundamental need in human life. When people are still striving to meet their basic needs for food and clothing, the home is merely a place of shelter in their minds, serving as a private space to gain a sense of security by separating themselves from the vast natural world. In today's affluent society, the role of the home as merely a place of shelter is no longer as significant. People now seek comfort and a sense of aesthetics from their living environment. In recent years, numerous books on interior design for residential spaces have been published domestically, but there are still not many resources available on exterior architectural design of homes. However, a comfortable and beautiful living environment should include both indoor and outdoor spaces, forming a harmonious whole. For this reason, we have compiled a wealth of materials to create this reference series, "Modern Residential Architectural Design." This book is the fourth volume in the series, featuring over a hundred sets of exterior architectural images of villa-style residences, supplemented by floor plans. Some are also accompanied by multi-angle exterior views, interior photos showcasing architectural structures, or model diagrams, aiming to provide readers with a complete and accurate visual understanding of the exterior and structural designs. In selecting villa-style residences, we have included both luxurious and elegant villas, as well as many small-scale, simple, fresh, personalized, and stylish villas that align with China's domestic context. This book is primarily compiled as a reference for architects and designers. With China's economic development, the number of villa-style residences has been increasing, especially in wealthy rural areas where newly built homes are trending toward villas. We hope this section can also offer valuable inspiration for the general public when constructing or selecting new homes.
