In the 1990s, when many designers were captivated by photographic posters, Lanbu's thinking changed once again. Simplicity, clarity, and visual impact became his new pursuit. The period that best represents Lanbu's style is around the 1980s. During this time, in addition to his extraordinary imagination, his photographic montage techniques, without the aid of computer technology, were completed using darkroom methods—a feat difficult to imagine today. Lanbu himself believed that his early works were more harmonious from an artistic perspective compared to his later works. Due to an increasing number of design tasks, he often had to entrust printing to printing factories, which he once regretted, fearing it would have disastrous consequences for his works.
