Features: Professor Meng Pengjiang is my esteemed teacher and close friend. Over more than forty years of collaboration and over thirty years of living as neighbors, I have benefited greatly from his guidance and have come to know him very well. Professor Meng is kind-hearted and has lofty aspirations. He has devoted himself tirelessly to revitalizing the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), fulfilled his responsibilities with utmost dedication, poured his heart into establishing the discipline of warm disease studies, diligently nurtured future TCM talents, continuously strived for excellence in his professional skills, and practiced medical ethics and conduct as a role model. His achievements are remarkable, and his reputation is widely recognized. He is indeed a person of profound wisdom and exceptional expertise.
The vitality of TCM lies in clinical practice. Despite his busy schedule, Professor Meng always made time for outpatient consultations, never separating himself from clinical work, and was sought after by numerous patients. Practice is the source of true knowledge, and as a result, the teaching of warm disease studies has been infused with greater vitality and dynamism from the very beginning.
Yang Jin, Wu Cheng, and several other colleagues compiled and edited the book A Collection of Professor Meng Shujiang's TCM Academic Works, making Professor Meng's academic thoughts and clinical experiences accessible to the public and passed down to future generations. Yang Jin, Wu Cheng, and the others are all direct disciples of Professor Meng, his highly accomplished students, and inheritors of his teachings. As the ancients said, "If one does not pave the way for others, even great beauty may remain unrecognized; if one does not pave the way for successors, even great achievements may not be passed on." The compilation of this book not only brings beauty to recognition but also ensures that greatness is passed on. It honors the legacy of the predecessors and enlightens the successors. With great pleasure, I have written this preface.
