Features: The papers collected in this book were written by some of the initial lawyers and legal professionals who went to Europe for study in our project. They stood out among hundreds of equally competitive candidates and were successfully selected for the training programs in 2000 and 2001. After nine months of training in Europe, they have returned to China to continue their domestic careers. These papers were compiled and organized by the participants of the project, driven by their desire to share their observations, experiences, and insights from Europe with their colleagues and other legal professionals in China. The viewpoints included in the book are the result of their research in Europe and further reflection upon their return. The authors come from all over the country, with diverse professional backgrounds—some from government departments, some from academic institutions, and some from private law firms. In the book, they express their own opinions on European law and its relevance to China's rapidly developing legal system. However, what they share in common is their passion for law.
