Publish Date: 2003-11-01
Features: With the deepening of judicial reform, the disclosure of court judgments has become one of the key aspects of judicial openness. This initiative helps improve the quality of judgment documents, facilitates public access and supervision, and has positive implications for legislative improvement, judicial advancement, and the promotion of legal education and research. As a bridge between courts and readers, we have collaborated with courts across various regions to compile and publish the serial publication Selected Court Judgments of the People's Courts. This series is edited by the High People's Courts of provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government and is published in chronological order. The series began in 2000 and will be published annually or biannually in subsequent years, organized by province, autonomous region, or municipality. The series includes judgment documents, ruling documents, and mediation documents created by the High People's Courts and selected intermediate or primary courts across provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. Its features include typical case types, clear and concise case descriptions, relatively accurate facts and legal applications, and instructional value. The editorial format of the series is as follows:
1. Judgment documents are divided into several categories: criminal, civil (including economic, intellectual property, etc.), administrative, and state compensation. Each category is further subdivided into several subcategories: criminal cases are arranged according to the order of the Criminal Code of the People's Republic of China; civil cases are arranged according to the classification order of the Provisional Regulations on the Classification of Civil Cases issued by the Supreme People's Court in October 2000; administrative cases are arranged in a departmental order that also considers content; state compensation cases are divided into administrative compensation and judicial compensation.
2. Within the same category of cases, ruling documents are listed before judgment documents, and documents are arranged in chronological order.
3. For the same case, judgment documents from higher courts are listed before those from lower courts.
We have made our first attempt at compiling such a large-scale series. Any shortcomings are welcome to be pointed out by readers for valuable suggestions and opinions.
