Features: The China (Hainan) Reform and Development Research Institute, the German Technical Cooperation Company, the World Bank, and other institutions jointly held the "International Symposium on Comparative Studies of Institutional Arrangements for Economic Transition" from June 10 to 12, 2002, in Haikou. The theme of this symposium was the international comparison of institutional arrangements for economic transition. Over 140 representatives from countries and international organizations such as Russia, Poland, Hungary, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, the World Bank, relevant domestic ministries and commissions, policy research institutions, universities, and theoretical and practical workers from some provinces, cities, and enterprises, as well as representatives from news organizations attended. Chinese and foreign representatives engaged in lively discussions on topics such as economic transition in the context of economic globalization, enterprise reform during economic transition, government governance during economic transition, and social reform during economic transition. At the same time, they put forward many insightful suggestions in light of the process of China's economic reform. This book is compiled from the papers submitted to this conference.
