Features: The book is divided into fifteen chapters and consists of four parts: Part I covers the basic theories of cadastral surveying, cadastral management, and cadastral surveying; Part II focuses on cadastral investigation, including land tenure, current land use, land grading, and building surveys, as well as the numbering of cadastral parcels; Part III deals with cadastral surveying, encompassing cadastral control surveys, boundary point measurements, cadastral map surveying, land area calculations, and digital cadastral surveying; Part IV covers technologies and methods related to cadastral surveying, including land division surveys, and "construction surveying" primarily aims to broaden students' knowledge (based on the basic conditions of buildings, which are also part of cadastral records). Common instruments, practices, and exercises in cadastral surveying will be introduced in the accompanying practical exercises for this textbook. The prerequisite courses for this textbook are General Surveying and Photogrammetry, while the follow-up courses include Land Management, Cadastral Management, Construction Land Management, Land Use Planning, Land Information Science, and Land Information Systems. This textbook can serve as a teaching resource for undergraduate students in land resource management and related disciplines, as well as a reference for students in relevant vocational programs, scientific and technical workers, and engineering technicians. Overall, the textbook's features are primarily reflected in the following aspects:
1. Enriches the basic theories of cadastral surveying. The book provides detailed definitions of cadastral surveying, cadastral investigation, cadastral surveying, and related concepts, clarifying some ambiguous understandings. Building on existing theories, it broadens the connotation of cadastral surveying, strengthens the intrinsic connection between land and its attached structures, and refines the technical system of cadastral surveying to meet the development needs of China's land management and real estate management industries.
2. Constructs a relatively complete technical system for cadastral surveying. The cadastral system established based on the theories, technologies, and methods described in this book is multi-purpose. As the foundation for cadastral management, cadastral surveying technology is constructed strictly according to the "definition of multi-purpose cadastral surveying," fully reflecting the completeness and continuity of the cadastral system.
3. The textbook is a crystallization of theory and practice. Based on extensive data collection and broad research, we conducted in-depth analysis and research. The content considers both the current state and future prospects of cadastral surveying, balancing theoretical completeness while reflecting the demands of China's land, real estate, and planning management systems on cadastral surveying technology. Thus, we propose the view that "any survey involving rights related to land and its attached structures can be considered as cadastral surveying."
4. Reflects advancements in modern science and technology. In this textbook, GPS technology and digital surveying technology are introduced in the context of their applications in cadastral surveying.
