Features: Economic construction is the center of our work, and pursuing economic development is the purpose of economic construction. To help achieve this goal, studying foreign economic development theories, reviewing the economic development ideas of predecessors, and further exploring a development theory with Chinese characteristics are tasks we hope to accomplish. Most of the material in this book comes from literature from the 1950s and 1960s, with a small part involving research findings from the 1970s, and the theoretical examination of the 1970s is not in-depth. As for the new achievements of the 1980s and 1990s, they are even less covered. For this reason, we accepted the major project of the "Nineteen-Ninety-Five" plan of the National Social Science Fund of China and spent two years completing the research. The book is now published under the title New Developments in Development Economics. The book is divided into five parts: Introduction; Part I; The Revival of Neoclassicism; Part II: The Interest in Neoclassical Political Economy; Part III: The Formation of the New Growth Theory; Part IV: Research on Sustainable Development. This book is the result of collective efforts. It was first proposed and outlined by Tan Chongtai, and after discussion, the chapter content was determined. Then, four people were assigned to write the sections.
