Features: The format of this book is arranged as follows: First, there are "Reading Originals" with a total of 72 articles, mainly selected from German newspapers and magazines in recent years. For the numerical data in the text, efforts have been made to revise or supplement them based on the newest edition (2000) of the book "Germany in Reality." These original texts cover a variety of topics, including Germany, the German language, landscapes, famous cities, ordinary people, street scenes, snippets of daily life, bits of technology, leisure and sports, glimpses of education, economy and industry, etiquette, and social phenomena, totaling twelve aspects. Considering the overall length of the book and the convenience of reading, I have edited the selected articles, shortening or lengthening them to make the length of each article roughly the same. In terms of language difficulty, appropriate adjustments have been made, rewriting or deleting some more challenging sentences to suit the German language proficiency and reading interests of most readers. Next, the short articles are annotated, summarized, and translated in five parts.
