It is hoped that in the coming period, more translations and treatises on new narrative theory will be published. Additionally, it is hoped that when constructing Chinese narrative studies, Western post-classical or postmodern narrative theories can be appropriately referenced. "New narrative theory" refers to the classical or postmodern narrative theories in the West since the 1990s, which reflect, innovate, and surpass structuralist narrative studies. In recent ten years or so, the translations published domestically have been classical narrative theories by Western scholars from the 1970s to the 1980s, leaving the field of new narrative theory untouched so far. This series aims to help fill this gap. The first five translated works in this series represent the essence of new narrative theory, showcasing different research schools, offering novel perspectives, depth, and distinctive characteristics. This series is a significant supplement and development to the Western classical narrative theories already introduced into China, providing excellent references for expanding thinking and deepening research.
