Features: The "Dictionary of Chinese Synonyms" is a reference book compiled for beginners and intermediate Chinese learners. With more and more people learning Chinese, the number of those who speak it well is also increasing. Beyond simple communication, it is essential to express one's thoughts accurately. Due to the differences between Chinese and English, as well as the variations in the collocations of synonyms in Chinese, the number of problems tends to grow as vocabulary expands. The purpose of this book is to help learners avoid and reduce errors in the use of synonyms. The book includes 381 sets and 1,046 entries of synonyms, with entries arranged in alphabetical order. Unlike other similar dictionaries, based on years of teaching experience, we approach it from an English perspective rather than a Chinese one, paying special attention to selecting words that are the same in English but expressed differently in Chinese. For example, the English words "to" and "go" are translated as "" (zǒu) and "" (qù) in Chinese. However, "" cannot take a direct object, while "" can. Words like these are frequently used and often prone to errors, making them the focus of our selection. We strive to be practical, listing about ten corresponding phrases for each selected word to facilitate learners' reference. After the examples, there are sentences with correct/incorrect comparisons and simple Chinese-English word meaning distinctions. To cater to learners of varying levels, we have added Pinyin to all words, phrases, and sentences.
