Little Universe Piano Tutorial.5

Author: Béla Bartók (Hungary)
Publisher:
Publication Date: 2001-04-01
Features: The first four volumes of this piano collection are designed to provide learners—both young and old—with training materials that cover all the difficulties encountered in the beginner stage as much as possible. The first three volumes are intended for use over one or two years of piano study. The distinguishing feature of these three volumes from traditional piano tutorials is the omission of all technical or theoretical explanations. Since every teacher already possesses this knowledge, there is no need to refer to a book or tutorial to teach basic concepts. To address the same issue, the author often provides several pieces for teachers and students to choose from. There is no need to play all 96 pieces in sequence. At the end of the first four volumes, there are exercises, with the numbers in parentheses corresponding to the piece numbers arranged for the same technical issue. For certain technical challenges, the author has prepared several exercises. Teachers can select the most challenging ones for talented students and the easiest ones for less capable students. It is advisable to practice these exercises before learning the pieces. In fact, the simplest exercises are not included, which is another difference from traditional tutorials. Every teacher is familiar with such exercises and can create some on their own.
