Features: Compiling a set of "Textbooks of Chinese Folk Vocal Music" has been our common aspiration for many years. In 1990, our department established a textbook selection team. After thorough discussions and contributions from all faculty members, repeated screening, and systematic organization, we compiled the materials frequently used in our classrooms and a batch of new vocal works into a collection, published by the People's Music Publishing House, and introduced it to fellow educators and students as well as enthusiasts of folk vocal music for reference and use in teaching and performance. This aims to better promote teaching, facilitate mutual exchange, continuous improvement, and collective advancement. Establishing a set of Chinese folk vocal music textbooks that embody national, artistic, contemporary, and systematic characteristics is a glorious mission and responsibility for all those engaged in the field of folk vocal music. Moving forward, we will make every effort to create conditions and continue compiling textbooks in various forms, particularly strengthening the development of new textbooks, ensuring that classroom teaching materials align with practical performance repertoire, and integrating classroom learning with artistic practice organically.
The "Textbooks of Chinese Folk Vocal Music" are divided into three volumes, with main content including: classical Chinese poetry songs, traditional folk songs, arrangements of folk songs, original compositions, selections from Chinese operas, and film and television theme songs. This collection features 61 folk vocal music pieces such as "A Shared Moon Across Miles," "Red Rainbow Sister," "Longing," "All Roads Lead to Beijing," "Westward Journey," and "Spring River Flower Moon Night."
