Publishing Date: 1997-12-01
Features: The book "Guan Dian Ji Wen" provides valuable historical materials for studying the politics and economy of the Ming Dynasty, especially regarding institutional regulations. Some of the historical records in this book are not found in other sources or are inadequately documented, making them even more significant. The specific content of the book, in Volume 2, records: At the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, the Zhongshu Sheng implemented a labor service system where one laborer was required for every 100 mu of land. Those with less than 100 mu had to compensate with labor from other fields. Could the people, already exhausted by labor, remain stable? From now on, for any construction projects, temporary borrowing of their labor was permissible only when absolutely necessary. As for non-urgent tasks and trivial labor, they should be avoided. The book was first published during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty and was later reprinted and published as part of the "Congshu Jicheng" series.
