Features: Promoting public understanding of science is an era requirement for scientists in the development of science today. At the same time, to achieve this goal, scientists need to re-examine science and understand and respect the public's stance. The Royal Society should make improving the public's understanding of science one of its primary responsibilities. Targeted initiatives should include: holding press conferences for journalists, providing information services, assisting and advising other scientific institutions on science communication, media liaison, and public relations, and improving connections with members of Congress, as well as with government, industry, and other stakeholders. Currently, improving the overall level of public understanding of science is an urgent task for the proper functioning of the nation, which requires coordinated action from all sectors of society, including important actions from the scientific community itself.
