Features: To meet the urgent need for popularizing and applying rubber dam projects and to establish standardized procedures for the construction and management of rubber dams, the Rural Water Conservancy Department of the Ministry of Water Resources issued the "Notice on Carrying Out the Compilation Work of the 'Technical Specification for Rubber Dams'" in November 1995. Under the leadership of the Rural Water Conservancy Department of the Ministry of Water Resources, the writing team immediately began their work. The first draft was completed in June 1996, and a writing workshop was held. The draft for comments was completed in August 1996. After extensive solicitation of opinions and revisions, the draft for submission was completed in October 1997, and a review meeting was held in February 1998, where expert review was passed. The SL227—98 "Technical Specification for Rubber Dams" consists of five chapters, 99 articles, and five appendices, covering General Provisions, Engineering Planning, Engineering Design, Construction and Installation, and Operation and Management. Based on summarizing the construction experience of rubber dams in China and referencing and absorbing advanced technologies from foreign rubber dam projects, it is comprehensive in content, technologically advanced and mature, reaching an international advanced level, and can guide future rubber dam construction. The technical indicators it establishes are reasonable and accurate, operational, and are coordinated with relevant technical specifications.
