Publishing Date: 2005-09-01
Features: With the continuous deepening of reform and opening-up and China's accession to the WTO, international exchanges in our country have become increasingly frequent, and the demand for English speaking talents in society has grown. The requirements have also become higher. In November 1999, the Ministry of Education approved the formal implementation of the College English Speaking Test nationwide, which responded to this demand and also played a role in promoting the practical improvement of college students' English speaking abilities. The purpose of writing this book is to cultivate students' interest in learning English through diverse classroom training, create an active and lively practice atmosphere, and help them improve their English communicative competence as soon as possible. This book is the result of the long-term accumulation of speaking teaching experience by the authors, closely aligning with the requirements of college English teaching and targeting the characteristics of large-class teaching in college English. When designing activities, we strive to make them concise yet detailed, flexible yet well-organized. Some activities have already been used in teaching and have proven effective. During the writing process of this book, we have read a large number of speaking-related books and received guidance and assistance from many colleagues at home and abroad. Here, we express our sincere gratitude to all colleagues who have shown concern, support, and assistance in the writing and publishing of this book. Due to the limited level of the authors, errors and omissions are inevitable. We sincerely hope that teachers and students will provide valuable suggestions and comments to improve this book. We would be greatly appreciated for any improvements made based on your feedback.
