Features: In the writing of this book, in addition to adhering to the overall requirements of the book, we also strive for "practicality, comprehensiveness, and novelty." "Practicality" means striving to ensure the authenticity of the documents and archives introduced. "Comprehensiveness" means striving to comprehensively introduce the types and functions of Huizhou documents and archives. On the basis of fulfilling the first two requirements, we also strive for "novelty," meaning we make efforts to focus on the new discoveries of Huizhou documents and archives and strive for innovation in their publication. In this book, we have reflected on some new issues in the social and economic history of Qing Dynasty Huizhou revealed by the documents and archives. For example, in the context of tax receipts, some new findings have emerged regarding the relationship between official receipts and local small receipts, the involvement of silver shops in the taxation of wealthy households, and the dual uses of association tickets. For newly discovered types of documents and archives, such as rural covenants, (), sacrificial dragon slips, (), (), official-commercial documents, (), tax-exemption licenses, miscellaneous donation receipts, (), (), (), examination seals, and (), we have made them public and introduced them. We believe that this will be beneficial to Huizhou studies and even other academic research.
