《Senior University Calligraphy and Painting Textbook》 is the crystallization of nearly 20 years of teaching practice in calligraphy and painting at the Haidian Senior University in Beijing. It is a series of textbooks compiled according to the teaching requirements of calligraphy and painting for the elderly. Haidian Senior University is located in the Haidian Zhongguancun high-tech development zone, education demonstration zone, and cultural area, where many famous higher education institutions are concentrated, gathering a large number of high-tech talents and senior intellectuals. The structure is slightly tilted yet balanced, disconnected yet connected, spacious yet not empty, dense yet not crowded. It has the appearance of regular script yet also the brushwork of skilled cursive script. Though refined, it is not rigid; dynamic yet full of charm, simple yet elegant, naturally powerful and beautiful.
The content of this book is as follows:
1. All the single characters in 《Huairen Collection of Wang Xizhi's "Preface to the Holy Teaching Order"》 are arranged in sequence according to the Chinese character radicals, avoiding the tediousness and frustration of searching and missing. It is very convenient to learn and can achieve twice the result with half the effort.
2. Brushwork is the soul of Chinese calligraphy. Whether one can master brushwork is the key to success or failure in learning calligraphy. This book uses detailed illustrations and explanations in the brushwork section, making it easy to understand and put into practice.
