Features: The Annual Academic is a large-scale collection of humanities and social science essays published annually, introducing cutting-edge research in major fields of Chinese humanities and social sciences. It focuses on in-depth studies of significant theories and translates selected new works by renowned overseas scholars. It encompasses specialized research across various fields of humanities and social sciences, emphasizing the study of major theoretical and cutting-edge issues. It aims to establish a responsible platform for Chinese academic expression, with the goal of promoting the development and progress of academia. The Annual Academic (2005) is the third issue of the series. Unlike the political and social themes of the previous two issues, this edition primarily discusses philosophy, a topic that seems detached from society and reality, a purely philosophical subject. However, it is actually a deep-rooted issue in life, related to the foundation of all knowledge and thought. All choices in life rely on various knowledge and thoughts, but perhaps nothing is more unclear than the foundation of knowledge and thought. Therefore, we have reason to worry that we have been guiding actions with very confused knowledge and thoughts. In this sense, philosophical problems are the fundamental issues of thought. The book primarily features long-form academic essays written by prominent scholars currently active in academia. The articles are divided into three categories: "The Path of Philosophy," "Cultural Interpretations of Philosophy," and "In Memory of Derrida," which can be seen as a "roundtable discussion" of the year's academic discourse.
