Features: When discussing the late Qing reforms, the political scientist abroad Xiao Gongquan proposed a question: If there are no suitable individuals for the Kang and Liang reforms, how can they be realized? He also pointed out that all historical reforms in China have faced this issue. Xiao's discussion of reforms focused on the political level. However, his insight holds great relevance for today's "rule of law construction" in China's legal sphere. We cannot deny that the success and sustainability of China's rule of law in the future depend on the participation of countless legal professionals. The more the legal profession grows, matures, and succeeds, the more robust, detailed, and effective the rule of law becomes, like a lush and immortal giant tree rooted in Chinese soil. For the cultivation of future legal professionals, the legal education initiatives being actively promoted today are of "unparalleled importance." Among the various components of legal education, law schools are universally recognized as the most crucial. However, the significance of legal education publications and the level of attention they receive may still be insufficient. We, at Legal Publishing House, are currently advancing an initiative—establishing a Legal Education Research Center with renowned legal scholars as consultants to compile teaching aids for legal education. This may be an even less-recognized part of legal education publications. Yet, compiling teaching aids for legal education is precisely an issue that should not be overlooked.
We know that China's law school education is not a U.S.-style vocational training system. In such a system, readers have at least completed their undergraduate studies, and many students have even accumulated years of social work experience. In contrast, the mainstream students of Chinese legal education—undergraduates in law schools—are typically young teenagers who enter at the age of eighteen. Law school education accompanies them through their four most valuable years of knowledge acquisition, but it must also consider their interests. Thus, while law textbooks enrich their minds with systematic theories, teaching aids complement these textbooks by engaging students' interests from various angles—through cases, regulations, reading materials, or even highly engaging formats. Today's promising youth will become tomorrow's legal talents. Legal Publishing House, in this process, not only wishes them success but also aims to actively support their achievement.
