Wen Hui Original Series: Random Thoughts on Science, Art, and Philosophy

Features: The author views philosophy as a pendulum swinging between science and art, seeking balance. Philosophy becomes credible through its proximity to science and lovable through its love for art. A philosophy that is both credible and lovable is a good philosophy, a philosophy that nurtures the soul. Only good philosophy can settle a person's soul. The author considers mathematics and music to be two of humanity's greatest creations. They are entirely human-made, splendid, and self-sufficient worlds. The former creates an infinite, true world using only ten Arabic numerals and several symbols, while the latter creates an infinite, beautiful world with just five lines and some tadpole-shaped notes. The progress of civilization is the gradual move away from a natural state. The greatest characteristic of civilized people is their voluntary preference for living in various "human-made" worlds. The intrinsic motivation for scientists to study science is to create a world. In the eyes of scientists, the human-made scientific world is better than the natural world because a scientist's spirit and mind can only find solace and a sense of stability within their own theories and systems, much like a silkworm can only find comfort within its own cocoon. The theories proposed by scientists become their spiritual homeland. People cannot live without a spiritual homeland, although everyone's concept of home is different. Those who are homeless or have a broken home are, of course, the most unfortunate people.
