Publish Date: 2004-02-01
Features: Mi Fu's calligraphy of the "Li Sao Jing" is in running script, with the original ink on paper in a scroll format. There are twenty-six leaves in total, each leaf containing two panels, each panel with five lines, with varying numbers of characters per line. The height of each panel is 35.5 cm, and the width is 31.2 cm. As mentioned in the postscript at the end of the scroll, "Previous critics of Mi Fu's calligraphy said it surpassed all others and was divine, deep and forceful. This scroll embodies both these qualities. I personally regard it as elegant and flowing. Among the many works of Mi Fu in the 'Shiqu Baoji,' none surpasses this one. Even when considering Mi Fu's calligraphy alone, it should be ranked as the best among his later works." It is truly a fine piece of Mi Fu's calligraphy.
