Features: After the publication of Eating in Shanghai, it received tremendous enthusiasm from readers. At the same time, many readers and relevant individuals believed that Shanghai is an international metropolis. While the publication of Eating in Shanghai certainly met some tourists' needs for food in Shanghai, the Chinese version of the book could not help foreign tourists try a wide variety of exquisite dishes in Shanghai. Additionally, the large format of the book was not convenient for tourists to carry. This prompted the China Light Industry Press to share our idea of publishing a bilingual version of Eating in Shanghai, Eating in Shanghai: Essentials in Chinese and English. However, compiling such a book was not an easy task. Shanghai's catering industry is highly diverse, boasting countless renowned restaurants and chefs, as well as a vast array of delicacies. Now, to select from millions of catering businesses—how challenging!
