Features: This book is a teaching material for pharmacy programs in medical vocational and technical colleges across the country. During the writing process, the textbook primarily follows the following approach:
Highlighting the characteristics of pharmacy education.
Taking commonly used drug raw materials and drugs from pharmacopoeia as the core, and using typical compounds and drugs from medical chemistry as examples, it merges inorganic chemistry and organic chemistry to introduce fundamental knowledge and theories of chemistry.
Allowing students to connect with their major, get in touch with their major, and familiarize themselves with their major from the basic courses.
Dividing the basic content of chemistry into two parts:
Part 1: Inorganic Chemistry
Part 2: Organic Chemistry
This helps students further understand the relationship between physiology and pharmacy, and grasp the importance of chemistry in pharmacy.
It lays a solid foundation in chemistry for students to take subsequent courses such as chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, and natural product chemistry.
To fully reflect the characteristics of vocational and technical education, Basic Chemistry strives to be simple, clear, focused, and easy to understand.
Given that the pharmacy major encompasses different disciplines such as pharmacy, pharmaceutical management, traditional Chinese medicine, pharmaceutical engineering, and business administration (pharmacy), which have varying levels of depth, emphasis, and content requirements in chemistry, we have considered these differences in the writing of this book.
Vocational and technical pharmacy programs in different directions can select and adapt the content according to their needs.
Additionally, this textbook is also suitable for chemistry teaching in medical programs and related medical disciplines.
Based on the pharmacopoeia, the book selects drugs or raw materials with typical functional groups to mainly conduct basic chemistry skill training, such as the use of test tubes and droppers, preparation of common reagents and solutions, determination of melting and boiling points, atmospheric and reduced pressure distillation, etc.
It also involves the identification of drug structural characteristics and properties through experiments, starting from the preparation of reagents.
To facilitate students' self-study and preview, each chapter begins with an outline of the content and ends with review questions to help students grasp the key and difficult points of the material and enhance their application skills.
